033112 - SWBA Rd. 2 - “Border Town Brawl” - SD Bay

62nd Place / 2.34.lb bag weight…BRUTAL. We caught 30 fish throughout the day, but we just couldn’t shake the 10 -12.5” fish. In hindsight there is a lot of coulda, shoulda, woulda, but I guessthat’s the way the cookie crumbles. We got nothing to lose from here on out…stay motivated / stay stoked!

030812 - Berkley “All Things Saltwater Bass” Seminar

FDBU was fortunate to participate on a Q&A panel alongside Capt. Jimmy Decker, WAR founder Afran Abutin, and Inside Sportfishing’s Justin Reynolds for the Berkley All Things SW Bass Seminar. We had over 80+ anglers in attendance as we discussed Saltwater Bass fishing techniques that we utilize for hunting trophy bass. Thanks to all that attended!

FDBU spend this past weekend in the 619…AGAIN. “2 Bays in 2 Days” was the plan. We had Hugron on the HYDRA-HOE Saturday in SD Bay then Reynolds & Afran Sunday in Mission Bay. The Spotties were all over the 3.5” Island Plastic & WARBLADE “low & slow” in the grass. Fun fishing and pure comedy on the boat all weekend long. 

‎2.11.12 - SWBA Rd. 1 - NPH

We struggled throughout the day working hard for 2 keepers. Our bag went 2.41lbs and a 34th place finish in the standings. We have our work cutout for us, but we’re looking forward to the rest of the 2012 SWBA Series.

The 2012 Offshore Challenge is a wrap! FDBU finished in 10th overall with 36.65lbs for 2 days of fishing. Day 1 was tremendously humbling when we brought in 10.97lbs, but we worked hard to make up for it on Day 2 with our biggest Offshore Challenge bag to date with 25.59lbs. Got out to the Wall with Jin Kang on his 1650 Monark to check out the bite. We found 58 degree water and a surging West swell on the outside wall. Ended the night with 20 fish with the biggest going 4.5lbs. Texas Rigged Flukes & 1.5oz WAR Slayer Jigs in “SHADOW” & “DARK DAYZ” got the bites.
